Of course you can tune this hurdy-gurdy in the traditional and often used tuning  D / G

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The longer scale is an ideal basis for an optimum sound result of all strings, 

 

 

 

 

 

In that case the range of the two melody-strings is c1 - c3 ( chromatic ).
